NASDAQ Dubai Academy training sessions to cover anti-money laundering and sanctions
NASDAQ Dubai Academy will provide Arabic-language training sessions in anti-money laundering, sanctions, compliance and know-your-client skills.
Courses dedicated to each topic lasting two-and-a-half hours will be held at NASDAQ Dubai, in the Dubai Financial Centre (DIFC), on March 25 and 27. The training will be delivered by experts from Thomson Reuters.
The courses are ideal for anti-money laundering and compliance officers, auditors and senior executives of financial firms.
The anti-money laundering course will include how to spot criminal activity as well as cross-jurisdiction and international Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issues. Sanctions topics will include US, UN and EU restrictions and how they affect companies in the Middle East.
Regulatory compliance issues and self-risk assessment will be covered, as well as how to deal with suspicious behavior by clients and make the right checks before doing business.
Hamed Ali, Acting Chief Executive of NASDAQ Dubai, said: “The Academy is committed to promoting high standards of compliance with all aspects of regulation and law in financial services firms. A solid understanding of this framework supports the commercial success of individual companies as well as the growth of the region’s capital markets.”
NASDAQ Dubai Academy provides a wide range of courses to meet the educational requirements of a range of market participants, including issuers, members, investors and the general public.
Other topics to be covered by the Academy in 2013 will include equities, debt and investor relations.
