NASDAQ Dubai Monthly Trading Report: December 2012
The value of equities traded on NASDAQ Dubai in the fourth quarter of 2012 reached 149.7 million dollars, an increase of 12% from 133.1 million dollars in the same period of 2011 and a rise of 2% from 146.2 million dollars in the third quarter of 2012.
Traded equities value in December 2012 reached 42.5 million dollars, an increase of 51% from 28.1 million dollars in December 2011 and a fall of 51% from 85.9 million dollars in November 2012.
In all of 2012, equities traded value reached 508.4 million dollars, a decrease of 25% from 674.3 million dollars in 2011.
The FTSE NASDAQ Dubai UAE 20 index ended December 2012 at 1,820, up 0.7% from 1,807 at the end of November 2012, and up 32% from 1,374 at the end of December 2011.
The index tracks 20 liquid stocks listed on DFM, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai. It has been designed as a hedging and investment mechanism for GCC and international investors.
Arqaam Securities was the most active Member of the exchange by equities traded value in December 2012 and in all of 2012, followed in both periods by EFG-Hermes Brokerage (UAE) and then Deutsche Bank.Back to Trading Reports
