NASDAQ Dubai Monthly Trading Report: December 2013

The value of equities traded on NASDAQ Dubai in

2013 reached 633,290,350 dollars, an increase of 24% from 508,789,127 dollars in 2012. The volume traded reached 198,890,687 shares during 2013, a fall of 23% from 258,899,364 in 2012.

In December 2013 equities traded value reached 66,218,967 dollars, down 15% from 77,734,408 dollars in November 2013 and up 56% from 42,529,496 dollars in December 2012.

Volume reached 51,793,831 shares in December 2013, up 139% from 21,667,733 shares in November 2013 and up 1,126% from 4,223,914 shares in December 2012.

The FTSE NASDAQ Dubai UAE 20 index ended 2013 at 3,397,  up 87% from 1,820 at the end of 2012. In the month of December 2013 the index rose 16% from 2,914 at the end of November 2013.

The index tracks 20 liquid stocks listed on DFM, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai. It has been designed as a hedging and investment mechanism for GCC and international investors.

EFG-Hermes Brokerage was the most active Member of the exchange by equities traded value in 2013, followed by Arqaam Securities and then Deutsche Bank.

In the month of December 2013, Al Ramz Securities was the most active, followed by EFG-Hermes Brokerage and then Deutsche Bank.
