The value of equities traded in November 2019 reached USD 128,094,192, up 54% from USD 83,448,608 in November 2018 and up 105% from USD 62,464,594 in October 2019. Volume in November 2019 reached 12,583,017 shares, down 6% from 13,344,548 shares in November 2018 and up 48% from 8,522,021 shares in October 2019.
The FTSE Nasdaq Dubai UAE 20 index ended November 2019 at 3,100.46, down 1.9% from 3,160.73 at the end of October 2019 and up 0.1% from 3,074.32 at the end of December 2018.
On Nasdaq Dubai’s equity futures market, traded value reached AED 10.43 million in November 2019, down 39% from AED 17.17 million in October 2019. A total of 41,929 contracts traded in November 2019, down 63% from 112,017 contracts in October 2019. The most active broker by value on the equity futures market in November 2019 was Al Safwa Mubasher, followed by Shuaa Securities and then Al Ramz Capital.
The futures market currently consists of single stock futures on 17 UAE-listed companies and 12 Saudi Arabia-listed companies, as well as index futures on DFM’s DFMGI index, ADX’s ADI index, MSCI’s UAE equity index and the FTSE Saudi Arabia Index.
