The value of equities traded in July 2019 reached USD 235,273,572, up 175% from USD 85,677,823 in July 2018 and up 45% from USD 161,893,614 in June 2019. Volume in July 2019 reached 20,165,840 shares, up 171% from 7,444,820 shares in July 2018 and up 61% from 12,540,869 shares in June 2019.
The FTSE Nasdaq Dubai UAE 20 index ended July 2019 at 3,395.44, up 8% from 3,138.59 at the end of June 2019 and up 10% from 3,074.32 at the end of December 2018.
On Nasdaq Dubai’s equity futures market, traded value reached AED 52.49 million in July 2019, a 74%
increase from AED 30.13 million in June 2019. A total of 333,431 contracts traded in July 2019, up 140% from 138,693 contracts in June 2019. The most active broker by value on the equity futures market in July 2019 was Brokerage House Securities, followed by Integrated Securities and then Al Safwa Mubasher.
The futures market currently consists of single stock futures on 17 UAE-listed companies and 12 Saudi Arabia-listed companies, as well as index futures on DFM’s DFMGI index, ADX’s ADI index, MSCI’s UAE equity index and the FTSE Saudi Arabia Index.
